General Texas mortgage assistance program requirements

In order to determine if you are eligible for Texas mortgage help, you would need to contact that your lender or mortgage provider, however, you also may be eligible for help with your mortgage if these other factors are met:

  • The home you live in is your primary residence, and you have no other homes in your name.
  • Your existing mortgage was originated on or before January 1, 2008 and you have paid at least six mortgage bills.
  • You are in need of aid to make payments on your current mortgage.
  • As of March 2008, the total monthly mortgage payments you are making need to be greater than 31 percent of your gross monthly income.
  • You need to certify that you have not been convicted of any type of fraud within the past 10 years, that you have not intentionally defaulted on debts or bills; and that you did not willingly or knowingly provide material false information to obtain your existing mortgage(s).

Foreclosure assistance and counseling from Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA)

Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs have partnered up The National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling (NFMC). They are working Together to provide free counseling, and also work with the homeowner and lender on a home loan payment plan. Texas mortgage help is something that many companies are working hard to provide.
